Stratos Seating Achieves ISO9001:2008 Accreditation
January 3, 2013 – We are proud to announce that CVG's (Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc) Stratos Seating facility located in Wetherill Park, Sydney Australia has achieved ISO9001:2008 accreditation. According to the certificate, this accreditation has been granted to Stratos Seating under the following categories: the manufacture, assembly, sales, supply, repair and installation of seating solutions in commercial vehicle and office applications.
Stratos Seating was acquired by the Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc (CVG), registered in Australia under the name KAB Seating Pty Ltd, some 18 months ago. Post-acquisition, obtaining ISO accreditation was identified as a priority task due to the many benefits that ISO 9001:2008 could offer Stratos, including:
- The ability for the business to function in an organised and disciplined way under almost any circumstances
- Fewer failures in product or service
- An increased ability to maintain customer satisfaction
- Better management control and reporting
- Having a common and clearly understood system including consistent and repeatable processes
“Gaining accreditation for the Stratos site involved incremental procedural and process change from the previously existing business model, to meet the CVG expectations and the criteria set out in the ISO 9001:2008 standard”, said Peter Mouy, Quality Manager.
Stratos Seating specialises in the manufacture and supply of seating for the Australian military, light truck, four wheel drive and specialty markets. “Aside from the improvement in our business efficiencies and the output of better quality products, ISO accreditation will also enhance our business profile when tendering for Australian Military projects and OEM opportunities where ISO accreditation is often a pre-requisite”, added John Ingham, National Sales Manager.

The CVG/KAB/Stratos Quality Management System will be externally audited on an annual basis to ensure that the required standards are maintained.
